If you are someone who likes fanciful and romantic jewelry, then chances are you already know all about Michal Negrin. But if not, then let’s start your education now.

Michal Negrin was born in Kibbutz Naan in 1957. Kibbutz Naan is a city found in the middle of Israel, just about 40 minutes away from Jerusalem. Even as a child Michal Negrin had a strong passion for expressing herself, often through design. Michal launced her first jewelry collection in 1988 and since that time her vision and business have been growing more and more with each passing day. So, what started as a small store in Tel Aviv grew into a factory studio in less than ten years. Today there are many of Michal Negrin stores all across Israel and throughout the rest of the world as well.

Now let’s talk about Michal’s Jewelry. The main themes that it often embodies are those of romance, fantasy and femininity. As a result buying and wearing michal negrin jewelry is, for many people, stepping into a magical, victorian dream world. One thing is certain, Michal’s work definitely has a sense of timelessness and strong optimism. In many ways Michal Negrin jewelry could be described as victorian in design, but there is definitely a sense of the fantastic and modern as well.

Over the years Michal Negrin also has expanded her vision and design into areas other than jewelry. For example, her lifestyle line features items like jewelry boxes, picture frames, mirrors and more. In her fashion line her vision has expanded to include dresses, tops, belts, skirts and more. Michal is constantly expanding her artistic vision to further complete the romantic and victorian world we can all live in now thanks to her vision. Michal, herself, sums it up best with her motto, “Live the Fantasy”.

But, that isn’t all. What fantasy world would be complete without the characters to live in it. To this end, Michal has created a line of little figurines which she calls “She-Shy”. The She-Shy character figurines have names like Totti, Coco and Ema. They are all posed in the same fashion but based on the name and theme of the figurine, they are dressed to match that theme. Also, the She-Shy figures are meant to embody strong feminine themes. For example, the Ema figurine emboies the theme of motherhood. Ema is a cool, young mother who is true to herself and lives in the moment. Ema is the type of mother who can’t wait to take her children on a jaunt around the world and works to make that dream come true.

Taken together, all of these elements complete the fantasy world of Michal Negrin. We can only hope that Michal keeps working to expand on her vision. Personally, we are holding out for the Michal Negrin romantic cottage with matching gazebo so we can while away peaceful spring days surrounded by hummingbirds, cupids and other magical creatures. Meanwhile gentlemen callers with tophats, coats and tails drop in to have a spot of tea. What? A girl can dream, can’t she?
